Summary
Photovoltaics power this Seattle Built Green home designed by Blip Design architects.
Description
Photovoltaic panels convert the sun's energy to electricity to provide power to this Seattle Built Green home. The rooftop system also includes vacuum tubes for heating water with the sun's energy to provide hot water for domestic use inside the home. Even in the often cloudy western part of Washington, there is enough sun to provide much of the power needs, depending on the size of the system, to a residence. Local utilities have net metering programs that effectively buy any extra power from such private renewable energy systems.
