Description

This completely new home is a showcase for “Built Green®” materials that can be utilized for your home remodel. The homeowner’s goal was to build an environmentally friendly home with all the modern amenities. Rastra block was chosen instead of traditional stick framing for its insulating properties. Twelve solar panels installed on the metal roof provide electricity. The finishes were chosen for their green qualities from low VOC paint to liptus cabinetry. The home has the bonus of a beautiful view of the Sound. Grey water system allows for the reuse of water before it is sent into the wastewater stream. Tankless water heater reduces energy use. Water filtration unit cleans water as it enters the home. Metal roofs last 2-3 times longer than composite roofing systems. Insulated heating ducts increase system efficiency and reduce leakage, saving energy.
