Hawthorne Hills Remodel

Description

Batt and Lear Design Build converted an existing 1948 home in Hawthorne Hills in Seattle into a 5-Star Built Green remodel. They took it from 2 bedrooms and 1 bath to 3 bedrooms and 2 baths while adding 320 square feet. The home features a water catchment cistern, rain garden, cedar rain screen, FSC certified woods and a high efficiency heating system. All of the energy features would have been for naught without a comprehensive envelope upgrade resulting in super insulated walls and roof.
