Summary
Homeowner shows off her built in recycling center during a tour.
Description
By using many of the strategies and practices that are included in the Built Green Remodeler program, this MBA member completed a Whole House Addition that met the project budget, exceeded the clients expectations, and significantly improved on the industry standard for environmental performance.
The new owner purchased this property for the sloping lawn and professional landscaping down to Steilacoom Lake, not for the unaltered, 1957 vintage rambler that sat on it. The task for design/build firm, Able Remodeling, was to transform this dated home into a contemporary masterpiece with state-of-the-art features, and to accomplish this in an environmentally-friendly way. While it predates the program, it would have received a 2-Star rating, and was five points shy of a 3-Star.
